“It’s called currency, not stuck-ity.”

I see a health issue when I see a human so focused on hoarding millions at the expense of others.

That subtitle above is from my yoga teacher, a swordswoman with words. She stopped me in my tracks with her response to my question because, yes, money is energy that’s supposed to nourish and flow.

Trevor Noah asked the question, if you could have the full access that money provides, or the money, which would you prefer? I found this podcast episode of “What Now? With Trevor Noah” just delightful as he discussed with his cast mates the idea that money is merely the representation of access. I don’t want things, but I do want access to safe housing, clean water, healthy food, quality healthCARE (should I ever need it, which I make a point to not), and factual information from varying points of view. Everyone should have access to these. Since 2006, I’ve been lecturing to my peers how unsettling it is that “artisanal” now just means “real” food, and “clean” beauty and homecare just means “not-poisonous”. And because of these additional words, these items are priced at a premium that might be unaffordable for majority use, therefore making any real impact they could have on our planet’s well-being negligible. Again, another story for another time.
